Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), MAHARASHTRA CIRCLE has launched IPTV for BSNL customers in PUNE, NAGPUR, NASHIK, KALYAN, KOLHAPUR, AURANGABAD & SOLAPUR. The services will reinvent home television entertainment.
MYWAY IPTV is one of the most discussed value added service on Telecom Broadband infrastructure. IPTV which is an acronym for Internet Protocol Television is many times misunderstood as Internet TV. Though IPTV is delivered through the broadband infrastructure (largely on ADSL)it does not use Internet and cannot be accessed unless subscribed for the service.
In this service the television channels are encoded in IP format and delivered to TV using IPTV set top box in digital format giving unparallel clarity and viewing experience.
With the launch of Multiplay services, the consumers of IPTV would be able to access three communication media viz, telephony, internet and television through existing single telephone line. All three services can be used simultaneously without any interference to each other.
The unique feature of the technology is the support for “Interactive” services. The competing technologies like Cable, DTH, Terrestrial Etc., cannot support this because of no or limited talk back capabilities.
